Clara Pimple
Clara Pimple is a talented Mixed Media artist who enjoys creating pieces of art that make you feel good to look at. Originally from Ohio, she has lived in Sierra Vista for 51 years, and is proud to call it home. She and her husband love the outdoors and camping. You can see that love reflected in some of her pieces. Such as her unique Zen rocks that inspire a sense of grounding, strength and stability, along with creativity and decorative style.
When Clara retired in 2006 her husband asked her, “What are you going to do with all your time?” and she responded with, “Maybe I want to do some sewing?” So she went looking for a sewing machine and was encouraged to buy an embroidery machine, even though she never embroidered before. She taught herself how and was hooked within a week. She was having fun! From there she took embroidery classes and then was skilled enough to teach the embroidery classes.
One day she came across a type of mixed media fabric art called Wall Totems. She took a class and found herself hooked on a new art, creating one of a kind Native American Indian inspired wall art. Again you can see Clara’s love of nature in each totem she creates, she brings in bits of nature to each piece, embodying the symbolism of the totem pole.

Clara was becoming an artist, something she never thought she would be because she couldn’t draw. She soon realized art was more than drawing.
Next on her artistic journey she found another project she enjoyed learning how to do, creating her own and eventually teaching others how to make them as well. Fabric Bowls, made from fabric scraps and clothesline rope. You can find her colorful bowls, along with the rest of her nature inspired art at the Huachuca Art Gallery in Sierra Vista.
Clara not only makes art that gives great aesthetic pleasure, she graciously gifts her art to friends and strangers. Hoping to bring a smile to the face and make the world a little bit better.
