Diane Given Hayes

Originally from Riverside, California, Diane Given Hayes spent 25 years in the US Virgin Islands - 10 years of which she spent living and traveling on a sailboat. She perfected her technique of fine detail in watercolors of landscapes, oceans, flowers, and cactus; which were shown in her Christiansted, St Croix gallery - Watch Your Step Art Studio

She participated in numerous art shows throughout the years, and was The Featured Artist of The Good Hope School Sixteenth Annual Caribbean Fine Art Exhibit of 2003. During this time is also when she started her endangered species series of Nature's Watchful Eye. These large brilliant close-ups of endangered species have a detailed second painting within the eye, each one showing the environment which needs protecting for that species.

Diane moved to Sierra Vista in 2012 to be near her family and to retire. She joined The Huachuca Art Association in 2023 and is happily painting again after a 10 year hiatus. "The artists in this group are fun and very encouraging - I've made so many new friends!" Diane has taken classes and is now painting with water-based oils. She loves the ease of painting intense colors and has maintained her eye for detail, light, and shadows. She looks forward to new opportunities which this medium offers, such as plein air painting.

Limited edition Giclee prints of many of Diane's artwork are available to order on canvas or archival paper in assorted sizes.   www.watchyourstepartstudio.com
