Mary Lametti was inspired by the artistic talents of her grandmother and mother before her. She continues this ‘art of expression’ in a somewhat more modern format.
Mary chose the simplicity of pen and ink (black and white) to create her art pieces. She feels this allows the viewer to ‘imagine’ the feelings, the actual colors and the textures of the subject at hand.
Mary researches, dabbles with sketches and then finally creates her art pieces using the combined techniques of drawing, stippling, zentangle and zendoodle.
Taking a somewhat mathematical approach to her designs, each subject painstakingly emerges with a significantly contemporary take on a very familiar figure.
Always stirred by nature, she is now working on a series of Southwest designs ‘Critters ~ Feathered and Furred’.
