Jayne Almodovar

I am a self-taught artist with experience in different media, like graphite, charcoal, pastels, acrylics and oils. All my training has been online (you tube etc.) and/or reading books and making many, many mistakes (and learning from them).

Creativity has just been part of me since I was a little girl, I have always used art as an expression from singing, dancing, drawing, acting, painting, etc.

I love to teach. I started teaching dance classes at the age of fourteen, at my aunt's dance company where I started as a dancer at age 7 and then moved to be a teacher and choreographer, winning many prizes and traveling all around my native country, Venezuela.

When I moved to the United States, I started working many different jobs. I kept my art as a hobby, as a way to express myself and relieve stress. Covid hit, my full-time job and my own studio went down with it. So, I started teaching classes online and that is what I have been doing for the past years since the pandemic started.

I love teaching people what I know, and passing down the knowledge to generations to come. "Every day is a learning experience and also a way to learn and perfect your craft".
