Known for mixed media paintings and figurative line drawings Susan K. Boyle creates works of art that are compelling and full of energy. The viewer is drawn into her world with sometimes humorous, and always creative pieces of art. Boyle takes a modern approach to art while minding traditional rules in regard to values, edges, and composition.

        After graduating from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, Susan worked as a commercial artist for several years. She then changed careers but continued to take art classes at every opportunity at places like The Art Students League of New York, The Kansas City Art Institute, and Texas Woman’s University.

        Drawing from life, having a model in the studio, is her preferred way of working. Ink is the medium she favors, often in combination with other media, such as, caran d'ache, conté crayon, or collage. Susan also does head studies in oil.
