Angus Bowie Wilson
Angus Bowie Wilson was born in Glasgow, Scotland. He served a five-year apprentice as a plumber and then graduated as Master Plumber.
In 1952 Angus and Joan were married. Then Angus served two years in the Royal Air Force for National Service, and while in the service, he attended the School of Art in Dundee, Scotland. He also studied with a private art tutor in Saint Andrew, Scotland.
In 1962, Angus and his family emigrated to the USA and in 1968 settled in Sierra Vista where Angus started his plumbing business. He gave the business up in 1984 and joined Brown and Root as a project manager.
Angus studied with Dale Boatman for several years, joined the Huachuca Art Association in 1970, and served as president of the association for two and one-half years. He retired in 2001 and has been a full-time artist since then, painting mainly landscapes and also some western scenes with horses and such.
Angus works in several mediums including watercolor, oil, acrylic, casein and pastels. He has paintings in Scottish locations and all over the US. He has won numerous prizes including Best of Show at Tubac Art Association, Huachuca Art Association and Tombstone Association. Two workshops were given for members of the HAA.
